Considering that it’s 2025, you probably find it as weird as I do that people like Stephen Miller keep accusing everyone from Trump’s political opponents to members of the federal judiciary of being communists. It seems like some kind of troll cooked up on right wing social media. But I think they are actually seriously pushing this, perhaps as a long term propaganda tactic to set up some kind of quasi-legal argument to use the federal police apparatus to punish their political enemies.
I know that sounds hyperbolic but they do play a long game and for whatever reason they obviously believe they can reintroduce this nonsensical anachronism into the body politic and make it potent again.
FTR: communism is not a thing on the American left. If anything it’s the right that’s going for the full soviet style central planning autocracy. But that’s reality and the right doesn’t do that anymore.
